The book pays special attention to lymph node identification as well as featuring a unique section on Head and Neck Deep Spaces to help understanding of common pathways of tumour spread. I didn't find this book as useful as I would have liked. A lot of the images are not of patients in standard treatment positions and they seem to have not focused on some of the important radiation structures of interest.

A wonderful social history of how "sex" is articulated in genomics. There have been a lot of books and articles looking at "gender bias" in science and its effects on the practice of science, but this is the first one to include an examination of how an open acknowledgement of such bias might sometimes help, not hinder, the production of knowledge. Richardson's concept of "gender valence" will be useful to anyone interested in feminist epistemology, gender studies, or science studies.

His parents hire tutors to help, but it isn't until a specialist comes in at the beginning of third grade and diagnoses him as dyslexic that things start to look up. For Adam, it has become a much bigger problem than just learning how to read-he must also find the self-confidence that years of failure have robbed from him. His new teacher helps him see that reading will always be hard for him, but that it is possible. The pastel illustrations adequately convey Adam's emotions. Wouldn't suggest this book - very negative spin on dyslexia

This was a very negative spin on dyslexia, I was reading it to my son who was just diagnosed and I noticed him cringing while I read. He doesn't have negative feelings about not being able to read and he is excited to start therapy, the child in the book had a negative attitude and I felt like whiting out the story and writing my own. Hope this helps you!

A Kid Like Me

I bought this for my 8 year old son who is an incredibly bright yet struggling student. He keeps asking to meet a boy like him. This is the closest I can come so far. This book brought tears to his eye, because he was so excited that Adam was just like him. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he exclaimed, "That's just like me!" The illustrations and metaphors are beautiful and inspiring. We are buying a copy to give to our son's classroom for the Holidays.
